How to Reach a Local Audience

If you’re trying to reach a local audience, think like a local and put your posts on their feed! 📍

How do you do this, you ask? 🤔

Well, social media makes it easy to reach the rest of the world, but there are a few things you can do to narrow that down to JUST the locals.

Whether you have a brick-and-mortar location or want to sell your product or service to more locals, tapping into the local network is a great way to grow your business! 🙌

Here are some tips to reach your local audience:

☑️ Use location tags on your posts.

You know those vacation photos you posted on your personal account and tagged the location? Do the same thing for your business, but tag your city or region!

☑️ Add location-specific hashtags.

Similar concept to location tags, but these are hashtags placed within your caption. Use a mix of higher and smaller search volume hashtags to reach the right audience.

☑️ Engage with locals in your area.

Take advantage of the location tools on social media. Look at who’s posted using location tags and hashtags. Visit community pages for locals to connect with them!

☑️ Create content with local businesses.

Visit local businesses and post a story tagging them, or create a reel about them! If they see your tag and share your account, you've reached more locals.
